Yesterday we had our appointment with the new farrier. He comes highly recommended thru a few of my horse friends, and he works closely with UC Davis animal science program. He said Final's feet were off balance, and his front and back left feet were growing out toward the side of his body. Not a good thing. So he started the process of correcting Fin's feet, but it will take 2-3 shoeings to really get him back on track.
I decided to ride Fin last night, once it started to cool off, and I'm happy to report that I think I have my horse back. He did stumble a few times, and we only did about 15 mins. of walk, trot and canter, but he felt much more willing to carry himself and move forward. So I think we're on the right track, but I'm cautiously optomistic. I posted a few pictures, and I will post again after my 3 lessons with Ellen this weekend.
