Nice ride last night!

I had some help last night and our ride was fabulous. I hadn't been doing much with Final for the past week because I was worried when he was sore. We've mostly been doing a lot of posting trot and stretching at the canter, but last night we got back to business. We worked on getting him more responsive to my aids for transitions in both the walk to trot to walk and the canter walk canter. We did a few trot half passes, and they were pretty good, so we worked on extended trots and concentrated on the transitions into and out of the extendeds. I need to get a more "passagy" feeling when coming back from the extended trot. That's part of my homework. :) Then we did changes. They're getting better, but I guess I'm holding too much with my right rein when I change to the right, instead I need to be giving a little. That seemed to work. So we'll keep practicing that! All in all, it was a nice ride!

Bronze Medal

I'm proud to say that Final has helped me earn my Bronze Medal from USDF. My beloved Yochi got the scores we needed at First Level, and Final helped me get the scores needed at Second and Third Levels. I'm pretty proud of my boys! They've taught me so much.

Up next, Silver Medal.
